Volleyball Recap: Auria Paul Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Blanche Ely

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Deerfield Beach, Piper was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blanche Ely Tigers. The Bengals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Piper was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-8, 25-11.

Piper's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Auria Paul, who had seven kills, four digs, three aces, and one block. The team also got some help courtesy of Aishalin Kinyua, who had six digs and six aces.

They weren't the only good server: Piper was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 35 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

The win got Piper back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piper will host Somerset Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blanche Ely, they will be playing at home against Dillard at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
