The Lakeland Dreadnaughts will be taking part in a tournament against the Fort Meade Miners at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Lakeland is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Lakeland's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Hernando. Considering the Dreadnaughts have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lakeland got a great performance from LOGAN MCMICKLE as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched.

At the plate, CAMERON FUSE was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was ELI MILLER, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Lakeland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .541 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Fort Meade ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Lake Region 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Miners have posted since February 18th.
The team relied heavily on Owen Harrell, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Matthew Pheiffer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Fort Meade and bumps their season record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lakeland, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lakeland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Meade struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lakeland couldn't quite get it done against Fort Meade when the teams last played back in February as they fell 7-3. Can Lakeland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
