Silas are taking a road trip to challenge Ingraham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Silas' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Ingraham's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Silas was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past River Ridge 3-1.
Carter Lystra made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Lystra wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cade Owen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Owen a new career-high.
Silas hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Ingraham hadn't done well against Lakeside recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Rams never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.
Ingraham also got a great performance from Takeshi Malady as he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Edgar Pravitz was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Harry Hayes, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Silas is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ingraham, their record now sits at 16-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Silas has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ingraham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
