The Elgin Owls will take on the Washington Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elgin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
On Tuesday, Elgin made easy work of Lawton and carried off a 15-2 victory. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Elgin got a massive performance out of Brody Morrison, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Morrison a new career-high. Ritson Meyer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Morrison wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Elgin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Washington was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Sulphur by a score of 4-1. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.
Owen Andrews spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Washington's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Brady, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Elgin pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Washington, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Elgin skirted past Washington 8-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
