Glenn hasn't had much luck against Jimtown recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jimmies at 5:30 p.m. Glenn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Glenn fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bremen on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4.
McKenzie Timm spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Makinzie Kline made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Jimtown entered their tilt with LaVille on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 23-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Jimmies, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Lilly Gaugler and Kiyla Eberhart made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Gaugler pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Eberhart tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Gaugler got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Eberhart went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most runs Eberhart has posted over her last seven contests.
In other batting news, Jimtown let Kendal McPhee and Abigail Williams run wild. McPhee got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Williams went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Campbell, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Jimtown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Jimtown's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Glenn, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Glenn might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Jimtown in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
