Skyline is 0-6 against Duncanville since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Skyline Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes at 7:00 p.m. Skyline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Duncanville is ranked first).
Last Friday, Skyline ended up a good deal behind Cedar Hill and lost 28-14.
Brandon Barnes put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Duncanville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mansfield 51-0 on the road. Fans of Duncanville have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Keelon Russell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 285 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. Russell is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Duncanville also got a significant boost from Caden Durham, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
Duncanville's win bumped their season record to 6-0 while Skyline's loss dropped theirs to 3-4.
Skyline was dealt a bruising 63-0 loss at the hands of Duncanville when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Skyline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
