The Lake View Wildcats will face off against the Rickover Naval Seadragons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake View has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Lake View managed to slip by Chicago Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars on Wednesday, falling 13-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Amani Giannopoulos was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (one). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Giannopoulos wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Benitez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Benitez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Rickover Naval came up short against Senn on Thursday and fell 13-9.
Like Lake View, Rickover Naval also got a great game from a two-way player: Samantha Booth. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. Booth was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI.
In other batting news, Soleil Gonzales was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.
Lake View's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Rickover Naval, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
