It was a good run, but Highlands unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Burbank Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Owls were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Highlands took Burbank into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-11, 25-13, 19-25, 15-8.

Christy Garza was a one-woman wrecking crew For Burbank. as she had 19 digs and two assists. Those 19 digs gave Garza a new career-high. Sophia Godina also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Highlands now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Burbank, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Highlands will take on Winn in a tournament on Friday. As for Burbank, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lehman at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
