After a string of seven wins, the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to Eagle. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Rocky Mountain still got an impressive performance from Logan Sailors, who scored 28 points. The match was Sailors' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anna Dabell, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Paige Cofer was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds for Eagle. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cofer has scored at least 25% of Eagle's points. Mary (molly) johnson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Rocky Mountain's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-3. As for Eagle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain will take on Owyhee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Owyhee is ranked ninth, while Rocky Mountain is ranked seventh). As for Eagle, they will head out on the road to face off against Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
