The Green Canyon Wolves were the 56-55 winner over the Mountain Crest Mustangs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Green Canyon took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain Crest. Green Canyon has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Gavin Crane and Jared Anderson certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Crane scored 12 points, while Anderson scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Green Canyon struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Mountain Crest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh Arnell out in front who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Hess, who scored 16 points.
Green Canyon's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2. As for Mountain Crest, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Canyon will take on Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. As for Mountain Crest, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bear River at 7:00 p.m. Bear River has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 569 points over their last nine games.
