The Wolfe County Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Rowan County Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wolfe County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Wolfe County made easy work of Montgomery County and carried off a 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.
Max Whisman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wolfe County let Jayden Molands and Kris Evans run wild. Molands went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Evans went 3-for-4 with three runs. That's the most hits Evans has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Fallen, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Wolfe County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.
Five must be Rowan County's lucky number: they beat Scott with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Vikings came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

At the plate, Ben Dehart was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Will Richardson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Wolfe County's record is now 18-9. As for Rowan County, their record now sits at 20-11.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Wolfe County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Rowan County struggles in that department as they've averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wolfe County skirted past Rowan County 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
