There's no place like home for the Snow Canyon Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 67-57 win over Cedar on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Owen Mackay continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Snow Canyon's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Kelsch, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Snow Canyon pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Cedar, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Snow Canyon will head out on the road to square off against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Snow Canyon likes a good challenge. As for Cedar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine View presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cedar in Utah (Pine View is ranked 14th, while Cedar is ranked 84th).
