Mountain Ridge's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the American Fork Cavemen 11-1. The Sentinels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Red Brooks made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mountain Ridge got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Van Renselaar, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Van Renselaar has posted since back in April. Tatyana Toala also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Mountain Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Fork only posted a batting average of .190.
Mountain Ridge's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for American Fork, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-19.
