The Nederland Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Galena Park Yellowjackets, and things went their way on Friday too. Nederland blew past Galena Park 38-7 on the road. Given Nederland's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 296th, while Galena Park is ranked 672nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nederland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Galena Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nederland will take on Port Neches-Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Port Neches-Groves knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Nederland likes a good challenge. As for Galena Park, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fort Bend Marshall at 7:00 p.m.
