The Latta Vikings's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Lamar by a score of 44-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Latta also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Latta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shawniza Bethea, who scored 19 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bethea has scored at least a third of Latta's points. Kardae Mcfadden was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Latta's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Lamar, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Latta will take on Green Sea Floyds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Green Sea Floyds is ranked 220th, while Latta is ranked 201st). As for Lamar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
