Ansonia had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Bloomfield Warhawks by a score of 23-14. The win was nothing new for the Chargers as they're now sitting on four straight dating back to last season.
Bloomfield's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Romar Heron, who rushed for 114 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and Cameron White, who rushed for 74 yards and one score. White got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ansonia will challenge Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Chargers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Bloomfield, they will face off against Berlin at 6:30 p.m. on the 19th.
