Basketball Recap: Salem's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Salem came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-51 W against the South Atlanta Hornets. This was a revenge game for the Seminoles: when they faced off against the Hornets last Tuesday, they had to take a 47-39 defeat.

Drew Clark and Duor Duor certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Clark went 5-for-11 to rack up 17 points and three steals, while Duor dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Clark continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bol Deng, who posted five points and five boards.

Salem's victory bumped their record up to 12-16. As for South Atlanta, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

Salem has already played their next game, a 55-42 win against Callaway on the 19th. As for South Atlanta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-47 victory against Kendrick on the 19th.
