Navajo Prep is 9-1 against Zuni since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Tuesday. The Navajo Prep Eagles will head out on the road to  challenge  the Zuni Thunderbirds at 7:00  p.m. One thing working in Navajo Prep's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last five games.
 Navajo Prep stacked  a  seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to Thoreau for the full four quarters, racking up a  76-46 victory on the road. Given Navajo Prep's advantage  in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings  (they are ranked 18th, while Thoreau is ranked 97th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Navajo Prep's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Xavier Nez, who  scored 17 points along with five  rebounds and four  steals. Nez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's  played.  Orion King was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 15 points and 12  rebounds.
 Even though Zuni has not done well against Wingate recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. Zuni came out on top against Wingate by a score of  46-33. The  victory was just what Zuni needed coming off of a  59-38 defeat in their prior  contest.
 Navajo Prep is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Zuni, their win  ended a nine-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 7-8.
 Everything came up roses for Navajo Prep against Zuni in their previous matchup  back in February of 2023 as the  squad secured a  68-35 win. With Navajo Prep ahead  42-16 at the half, the  match was all but over already.
