The Parke Heritage Wolves will square off against the Riverton Parke Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Parke Heritage is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past North Vermillion 46-20 on Friday. The Wolves' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Parke Heritage found their leader in sophomore Sawyer Monik, who threw for 105 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in two rushing scores. Justin Cooper was Monik's top target, picking up eight receiving yards.
Parke Heritage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, Riverton Parke strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 59-6 victory over Attica. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Red Ramblers are ranked 291st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Riverton Parke's win came from a few key players Parke Heritage will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Vickter Shoopman, who rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Pope, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries.
Riverton Parke didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jackson While, Zander Delp, and Kane Llewellyn picked up one apiece. While got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Parke Heritage's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Riverton Parke, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Parke Heritage has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 203.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Riverton Parke struggles in that department as they've been averaging 398.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Parke Heritage took a serious blow against Riverton Parke in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 70-0. Thankfully for the Wolves, Aj Goff (who rushed for 115 yards and four TDs on only five carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
