The River Dell Golden Hawks were the 57-55 winner over the Pascack Valley Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. River Dell fell just short of Pascack Valley by a score of 49-47.
When it comes to explaining why River Dell lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Sean Golden. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Pat Sweeny, who scored eight points.
River Dell's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pascack Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
River Dell will head out on the road to face off against Dwight Morrow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pascack Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Northern Highlands at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Northern Highlands and Pascack Valley are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
