The Pine View Panthers waltzed into their game Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They escaped with a win against Elko by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Pine View has scored all year.
Pine View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nash Schroeder, who scored 20 points. The contest was Schroeder's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffen Shepherd, who scored 14 points.
Pine View is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Elko, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
