After only 12 points in their last game, The Red Springs Red Devils made sure to put some points up on the board against the West Bladen Knights on Friday. Red Springs strolled past West Bladen with points to spare, taking the game 32-18. This was payback for Red Springs, who suffered a 39-20 loss the last time these two teams met.
Jakelsin Mack was his usual excellent self, rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Mack hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Scottie Locklear, who threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.
Despite the loss, West Bladen had strong showings from Hunter Hester, who threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt, and Noah Hall, who picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Red Springs' win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for West Bladen, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Red Springs will head out on the road to face off against SouthWest Edgecombe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in SouthWest Edgecombe's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six games. West Bladen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
