The New Richmond Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell 65-54 to Clinton-Massie. New Richmond was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, New Richmond still got an impressive performance from Rylan Utter, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ryan Keith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
New Richmond has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Clinton-Massie, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
New Richmond will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mariemont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Ohio (the Warriors are ranked 128th, while the Lions are ranked 586th). As for Clinton-Massie, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in Taylor's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
