After flying high against Vanguard Academy Beethoven last Friday, the Idea Academy Titans came back down to earth. Idea Academy took a serious blow against IDEA Edinburg College Prep on Tuesday, falling 59-22. It was the first time this season that Idea Academy let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Idea Academy still got an impressive performance from Layla Perez, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and 11 steals. Perez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Idea Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for IDEA Edinburg College Prep, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Idea Academy will head out on the road to take on IDEA North Mission at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. IDEA North Mission is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. IDEA Edinburg College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
