Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Torres

Torres had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Fresno Warriors 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Toros have posted since April 9, 2024.

Jillian Villalobos was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. J'lynn Mitchell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Villalobos wasn't the only one making solid contact: Torres kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Torres' win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Fresno, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Torres will take on rival Madera South at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fresno is set to square off against their familiar foe Roosevelt at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
