The El Capitan/Centennial Academy had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 36-20 victory over Salome. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but El Capitan/Centennial Academy was the (much) better team in the second half.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Monte Hammon, who picked up 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns. El Capitan/Centennial Academy also got a significant boost from Daniel Duston, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Salome, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy will take on Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hayden will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. Salome does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
