South Elgin is 9-1 against West Chicago since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Storm will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. South Elgin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

South Elgin got a massive performance out of Adriana Jimenez, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Jimenez a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kaidence Runachik, who went 1-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Jimenez wasn't the only one making solid contact: South Elgin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, West Chicago was able to grind out a solid win over Fenton on Tuesday, taking the game 8-3. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won seven in a row.
Jasmyn Trigueros was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. In other batting news, Finn Gallagher was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Tessa Banasiak was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
South Elgin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Chicago, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
West Chicago's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Elgin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for West Chicago, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain South Elgin's hitters?
South Elgin skirted past West Chicago 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
