The Triad Cardinals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past Mechanicsburg with a 56-51 victory. The victory was just what Triad needed coming off of a 80-42 defeat in their prior game.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lane Poland, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keegan Freeze, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Even though they lost, Mechanicsburg were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Triad's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Mechanicsburg, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Triad will finish 2023 at home by hosting Ridgedale at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. Mechanicsburg will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Tree of Life Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th.
