Roosevelt is a perfect 10-0 against Edsel Ford since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bears will head out to face off against the Thunderbirds at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roosevelt has nine straight wins, Edsel Ford has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Roosevelt came out on top against Taylor on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Bears were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Bears have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ellie Isenegger and Xzaila Ellis made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Isenegger pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ellis struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Isenegger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Isenegger went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Ellis went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most runs Isenegger has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Devlyn Massengill was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shaylan Gourlay, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Roosevelt hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Edsel Ford lost 17-2 to Anderson on Wednesday.
Edsel Ford's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Roosevelt, their record now sits at 13-2.
Everything went Roosevelt's way against Edsel Ford when the teams last played last Monday, as Roosevelt made off with an 18-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
