South Creek have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge Riverside on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against South Creek, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
After a big victory against Southeast Halifax four weeks ago, South Creek came back down to earth. South Creek took a serious blow against Tarboro two weeks ago, falling 0-60. South Creek were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-48.
Last Friday, Riverside put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Camden County 60-0. With Riverside ahead 48-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Riverside's victory lifted them to 5-1 while South Creek's loss dropped them down to 3-2. With four turnovers, South Creek had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if Riverside exploit that vulnerability.
