Basketball Recap: Academy at the Lakes Takes a Loss

Academy at the Lakes saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 57-39 bruising from the Osceola Warriors. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Academy at the Lakes lost, don't look at Aria Sneary-Beachy. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points. The contest was Sneary-Beachy's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Siya Shah, who had 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Osceola to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evelyn Turner, who put up 13 points. Adrian Jenezon was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 13 points and eight boards.

Academy at the Lakes' record now sits at 5-3. As for Osceola, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Academy at the Lakes and Osceola will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Wildcats see the court they'll take on Angeline Academy of Innovation at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2026. As for Osceola, their break will end when they face Gibbs at 8:00 p.m. on January 8, 2026.
