The Kemper County Wildcats had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They strolled past Franklin County with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Kendetryon Backstrom, who rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Toddrick Rush, who rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Kemper County's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.3 points per game. As for Franklin County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Kemper County will face off against Seminary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
