After trading leads three times,
Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, N.M.) snatched the lead for good when
John Ainsworth thew a touchdown to
Isaac Martinez in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Raton (N.M.) 40-21.
The two teams were tied at 21 heading into halftime. The Elks/Elkettes took the lead for good on a Ainsworth touchdown pass to Martinez in the third quarter.
Ainsworth was one of the big reasons Pojoaque Valley got the victory, as the junior threw four touchdowns.
The Tigers'
Seth Parker played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Raton took, 33-8.
With the win PV extended its winning streak to four games.
Pojoaque Valley (4-2) will play a 3A District 2 game against Robertson next week, while Raton (0-6) will take on Albuquerque Academy in a non-conference game.
