The Brewer Patriots pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 77-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Russellville. Brewer has struggled against Russellville recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Cason Oden and Jackson Dunn certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Oden scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Dunn scored 22 points along with six rebounds. The game was Dunn's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austyn Holmes, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Brewer has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Russellville, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5.
Brewer will square off against West Point at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Russellville, they will be playing at home against Lawrence County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Russellville likes a good challenge.
