If the D'Evelyn Jaguars were feeling good off their 79-44 takedown of the Englewood Pirates on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. D'Evelyn was dealt a 81-53 defeat at the hands of Sierra on Thursday. D'Evelyn was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sierra apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Despite the loss, D'Evelyn still got an impressive performance from Taj Kumar, who scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Robby Ziemian, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
D'Evelyn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sierra, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
D'Evelyn won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Vista PEAK Prep at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Vista PEAK Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. As for Sierra, they will square off against Ponderosa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 64 points per game, Ponderosa has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
