Piscataway Vo-Tech has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Dunellen Destroyers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Piscataway Vo-Tech posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 48-19 victory over Noor-Ul-Iman.
Meanwhile, Dunellen got the win against Somerset Tech on Monday by a conclusive 41-21. Given Dunellen's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Somerset Tech is ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dunellen found their leader in underclassman Wendy Woll, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Sophie Jimenez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Piscataway Vo-Tech now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Dunellen, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Piscataway Vo-Tech, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-27 loss to Dunellen in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Woll, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Piscataway Vo-Tech knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
