Softball Recap: Poteet Extends Winning Streak to Four

Poteet waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Palmer Bulldogs with a sharp 17-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Poteet's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Palmer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9-1.

Coming up, Poteet will face off against North Mesquite at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Mesquite has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.83 runs per game on average), something Poteet will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Palmer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blooming Grove at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. Blooming Grove knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Palmer likes a good challenge.
