AAA District 9 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Lincoln Kenitzer and Dametris Watson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against White House. The connection was good for 51 yards, the longest such play in AAA District 9 this season.
Station Camp was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Bison vanquished Hillwood 27-7 earlier in the week.
Jaquel Fitts was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 221 yards on 36 carries as Station Camp beat the Hilltoppers. Jeremy Pickel also contributed to the rushing game with 35 yards on the ground.
Price was the best wideout in AAA District 9 this week as Shaun Hollinsworth's team beat Hillwood. Price racked up three receptions for 81 yards. Josh Malone helped Station Camp's passing attack out by catching four balls for 24 yards.
Parker Henry put up the best numbers through the air as Beech topped the Blue Devils. He finished with two completions for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Henry's favorite target this week was Parker Campbell, who caught one pass for 51 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Kenitzer and Jalen Hurd the Buccaneers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Kenitzer leads the league in passing with 555 yards, while Hurd has rushed for 1674 yards this season. The Bison's Malone leads the league in receiving yards with 256 on 17 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Beech takes on Hendersonville. Anthony Crabtree's team is currently in second, while the Commandos are in fourth.
Wilson Central extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Centennial, 35-21. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
