The Compass Charter Aviators lost against the Victory Charter Vipers back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Compass Charter opened the new year with a less-than-successful 29-18 loss to Victory Charter. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Compass Charter in their matchups with Victory Charter: they've now lost five in a row.
Compass Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Kartchner, who scored two points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Kartchner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Reanna Byers, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
Compass Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Victory Charter, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Compass Charter will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Marsing at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Marsing is ranked 123rd, while Compass Charter is ranked 105th). Victory Charter won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wilder at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Wilder is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
