The Evansville Reitz Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Heritage Hills Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Evansville Reitz is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Evansville Reitz's offense. They fell just short of Evansville Memorial by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Talan Willett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Evansville Reitz's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Heritage Hills made easy work of Evansville Christian on Tuesday and carried off a 14-2 win. Considering the Patriots have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Peyton Gray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gray was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Andersen Smith was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Colten Hopf was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Heritage Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Heritage Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Evansville Reitz, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Evansville Reitz skirted past Heritage Hills 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
