2A Region 3 recap November 13, 2013
East Poinsett County extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 3 this week by beating Marked Tree, 46-6. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Salem took down Cross County 50-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dillon Turner threw for 65 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 108 yards in the win.
Salem's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Greyhounds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Turner has thrown for 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Kirland has 20 catches for 312 yards.
The Greyhounds made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,222 from 11,534. The advance stemmed from a 50-7 victory over the Thunderbirds last week.
