The Cox Mill Chargers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past A.L. Brown 50-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Cox Mill has posted since December 5, 2023.
Makayla Richardson was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Betz, who scored eight points.
When it comes to explaining why A.L. Brown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sadie Faulkner. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points.
Cox Mill's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for A.L. Brown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cox Mill will take on Hickory Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hickory Ridge is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for A.L. Brown, they will be playing at home against Mooresville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
