Northeast is 0-9 against Southeast since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Northeast Vikings are on the road again and plays the Southeast Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 87-21, which was the final score in Northeast's tilt against Central last Tuesday. Northeast has not had much luck with Central recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Southeast's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 96-19 loss at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, Southeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 470th, while Central is ranked 108th).
Northeast dropped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.5 points per game. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
Northeast was dealt a bruising 80-38 defeat at the hands of Southeast when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northeast was down 51-13.
