The Pearl Pirates had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 17-13 W over Gulfport on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pearl.
Several Admirals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nicholas Williams, who threw for 219 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Bishop Mcgruder, who picked up 116 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Gulfport's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Yaviel Lopez and Kadarrius Reed who racked up five sacks between them.
Pearl's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Gulfport, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Pearl will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Brandon at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Brandon is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games. Gulfport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
