There's no place like home for the Horizon Honors Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past Chandler Prep with a 44-40 win on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Horizon Honors, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Diego Torres was his usual excellent self, scoring eight points along with 17 rebounds and six assists. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Matthew McEnaney was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals and four blocks.
Horizon Honors has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Chandler Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Horizon Honors will be playing at home against Santa Cruz Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Santa Cruz Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Horizon Honors is ranked 117th). As for Chandler Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Sequoia Pathway Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sequoia Pathway Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
