Southside is a perfect 5-0 against Greene Central since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Southside's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Lejeune. The high-scoring effort was just what the Seahawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Carolina Crisp made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Southside got a big performance out of Lily McLean, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. McLean has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 13 times she's played. Emily Mondragon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Southside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lejeune only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Greene Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 38th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against West Craven, falling 19-0.
Southside's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-7-1. As for Greene Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.
Southside's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Seahawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Greene Central, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Southside continue to outrun the ball?
Southside took their victory against Greene Central in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 16-3 score. Will the Seahawks repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
