The Chaminade Flyers will head out on the road to face off against the St. Anthony's Friars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chaminade is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Anthony's in New York (Chaminade is ranked 81st, while St. Anthony's is ranked 221st).
Chaminade pushed their score all the way to 88 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 93-88 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Raymond Boys. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game back in December of 2023 (59), Chaminade still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Anthony's beat St. Dominic 56-50 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Anthony's.
St. Anthony's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Connor Mannix, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mannix has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Vieux, who scored nine points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Chaminade and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for St. Anthony's, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Chaminade beat St. Anthony's 43-35 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Chaminade repeat their success, or does St. Anthony's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
