Bloomington North came out on top against Columbus North by a score of 51-44 on Friday. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Bloomington North did.
Bloomington North got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Robbennolt out in front who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Robbennolt has scored at least a third of Bloomington North's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Stegemoller, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Several Bull Dogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Johnson, who scored 11 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sydney Johnson, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Bloomington North is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Columbus North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.
Bloomington North will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Edgewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday. Columbus North's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
