Spencer started the matchup off right with 35 first-half points. Denison-Schleswig put up 10, so the score was 35-10 at the half. The Spencer defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The win bumped Spencer's record up to 4-1. The loss dropped Denison-Schleswig's record to 4-2.
Next week Spencer take on Storm Lake at 7:00 PM. Storm Lake took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Spencer's good fortune. Denison-Schleswig will look to defend their home turf against Bishop Heelan Catholic at 7:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.
