The Steinbrenner Warriors will take on the Robinson Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Steinbrenner: 2.6, Robinson: 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Steinbrenner is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Bloomingdale on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bulls by a score of 2-1.
Steinbrenner saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Liss, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Liss launched this season.
Robinson never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Freedom on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Patriots. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.
Santiago Rojas looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Collin Rosenberg was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Brady Capps was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Robinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Robinson's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Steinbrenner, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Steinbrenner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Robinson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Steinbrenner beat Robinson 5-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Steinbrenner have another victory up their sleeve, or will Robinson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
